Takeads has made two important updates to enhance your experience with us: the improved GEO functionality and the update to the Country and Language Codes. These updates are all about giving you more accurate targeting options and helping you boost your conversions and monetization efforts.

Improved GEO Functionality

As part of our commitment to providing top-notch targeting options, we have made significant improvements to our GEO functionality. 

Statistics show a significant increase in the number of users accessing the internet through VPNs – 33% of all Internet users use a VPN. Recognizing the growing number of VPN users accessing the internet, we have taken a client-centric approach. We have removed any technical limitations for geo targeting to place the power of targeting in the hands of our esteemed publishers. They have valuable insights into user origins, allowing them to make more informed decisions.

From now on, you can not only target the right audience but also boost your monetization efforts, ultimately leading to greater profitability for your business.

Language Code Update

At Takeads, we understand the challenges faced by advertisers when it comes to expanding their customer base across different countries. While advertisers are actively seeking customers from various regions, many fail to localize their websites for the languages spoken by these users.

To address this issue, Takeads introduced the latest update: Language Code. This innovative solution provides publishers with information about the languages supported by an advertiser’s website. By having access to this data, publishers can now make informed decisions on where to direct their traffic, ensuring that users are directed to shops that match their language preferences.

Technical Details:

To access the Language Code information, you can refer to the API documentation provided by Takeads. The languageCodes parameter in the API provides an array of languages supported by the website in ISO 639-1 alpha-2 format. If the value is empty, it means that the website languages are unknown. This information can be retrieved using the GET method on the provided API endpoint. Please check out our official API documentation for more information:

Country Codes Update

In addition to the GEO and Language Code updates, we have also made changes to the Country Codes of all advertisers. Specifically, we have removed the value “WW” (WorldWide) from the list of country codes. Previously, you might have seen country codes like “FR”, “WW”, which indicated worldwide offers. With this update, please make sure to update your systems and exclude traffic to offers from countries that are not accepted. These changes should be implemented before January 31, 2024, to ensure smooth operation and accurate targeting.
