In this case study, we’ll review a monetization strategy of the content website that delivers engaging articles on beauty, wellness, and personal growth, while also monetizing links within its articles.
The client manages a portfolio of three unique websites, each serving distinct purposes. Because the team already had other websites they were monetizing with Takeads, eventually they decided to try Takeads on their content website, too.

Since the start, the client’s team has consistently prioritized the user experience as their primary goal and kept the number of banners minimal. Before joining Takeads in 2023, the website wasn’t showing any native ads.

The Solution: Take Link and focus on the user experience
After a detailed analysis, we recommended to the client our flagship product – Take Link. Take Link is a Takeads product for commerce content publishers aiming to enhance their monetization performance by introducing native links.
Thanks to our monetization strategy, the client successfully implemented our Take Link solution in a few clicks by adding a .js code to their websites. This solution helped them introduce new ad placements, including links inside images, generic links in text, and keywords in text.
The ad setup was created taking into account the website’s long-form beauty/lifestyle online magazine nature. For example, placing the ad right after the first paragraph is the most non-intrusive yet effective ad placement, because the ad naturally grasps users’ attention, and users will be more likely not to oversee the ad and have a chance to interact with it.
Another interesting observation was how affiliate clicks grew over time and led to a spike in revenue.
While many things can affect this growth, we believe in the client’s case it was due to the following factors:
Effective ad placements: Placing the links contextually, in the right places throughout the commerce content, rather than putting even more banners, led to additional sources of revenue for the client.
Highly relevant offers: If the content is highly relevant, and engaging, and the offers align with currently trending topics or events, the click rate grows accordingly.
The Result: 100% ad revenue boost
To calculate the increase in revenue, we extracted the data from the client’s accounts to compare it against Takeads involvement from May 2024 to June 2024 when we first introduced Take Link. By splitting before and after, we could observe the following remarkable results:
- Over 3,000 increase in daily clicks
- A 100% revenue increase
- A significant boost in eCPM
