Why it matters

Let’s look at why this update is a game changer and how it simplifies the affiliate marketing process. Previously, publishers faced the challenge of manually inserting the target links which led to human errors, incorrect affiliation, and lower conversion rates.

The deployment of Tracking Link 2.0 is a step towards enhancing our ecosystem:

• Simpler link generation: Publishers are now relieved from the burden of manually inserting target URLs minimizing link generation mistakes.
• Increased affiliation rates: The new system’s improved targeting capabilities will dramatically reduce incorrect affiliation cases which may result in improved conversion.
• Secure Publisher ID: Enhanced security is implemented by hashing and encoding the publisher’s ID within their tracking link.

How it works

The Tracking Link 2.0 is designed to work like this:

1. The encoding process compresses the tracking link information, incorporating the Publisher’s ID directly within the link.
2. The need to specify a target URL is now optional, allowing for automatic redirection to a partner program domain.  
3. The simplification of the link allows for direct and automatic redirection to an associated partner program domain, facilitating a seamless connection to the desired merchant without manual input of the URL.
